Innovation on the test bench:
Waffel Löser test centre, the "Technikum"

Everyone knows that innovation is a key to success, but not everyone manages to find the key - or to turn it in the lock. At Waffel Löser we have established our own test centre (the so-called "Technikum") for this very purpose. Here we can analyse new product ideas and developments closely under conditions which simulate serial production.

In the Technikum, ingredients are examined for production capability, new recipes are tested and wafer samples are baked, developed and optimised until they are ready to go into series. Only when all the individual components really fit do we release a development for serial production. This enables us to avoid expensive experiments in day-to-day production.

A well co-ordinated team of product development specialists tackles a wide range of tasks here, in close collaboration with our plant engineering department. This lays the foundation for our vertical quality concept in serial production - from raw materials right through to delivery.

Open to customers

As far as we are concerned, maintaining close contact and good relations with customers and business partners is not just a matter of lip service. For example, our customers' development staff are welcome to visit our test centre at any time. They are invited to become proactively involved, contribute their own ideas and benefit from ours. During the preparation and test phase we create the ideal conditions to gain insights which pay off later in serial production.

We also look for solutions for handling semi-finished products such as flat wafers and shaped wafers: these can then be deployed by our customers precisely at the finishing point in production.
